Summer is such a gift for teachers…it’s the gift that keeps giving if you are a PBL teacher, because summer is the perfect time to prepare yourself for a year of PBL ahead.

If you are a school leader looking for ideas to inspire your teachers to learn more about project-based learning (PBL) this summer, then here are some fun ideas to share with your staff. You can use these teacher activities for PBL in any of the following ways:

  • Send out these PBL teacher activities throughout the summer as a way to keep teachers excited to keep learning and trying PBL. You can send this PBL summer bucket list digitally or maybe even snail mail it with a postcard from your travels.

  • Run a social media contest that asks teachers to share their PBL learning as a way to inspire students in your community to keep learning over the summer. You can use this selfie scavenger hunt for photo ideas or ask teachers to follow Summer Time Jenn’s Must-Dos!

  • Use these fun PBL teacher activities at your Back to School PD to keep teachers engaged and excited about PBL! or maybe even have teachers do some preparation for your teacher PD and use a Bingo grid like this one to model voice and choice.

  • Don’t want to ask teachers to commit to my PBL book club or PBL e-courses this summer?  That’s ok, but teachers can still keep learning about PBL in a way that suits them (see what I did there?!)
