Workshop Descriptions:
PBL+AI Certification Workshop (90 minutes to full-day options)
This hands-on workshop equips educators with practical strategies for integrating Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Artificial Intelligence. Designed by Dr. Jenny Pieratt, an international PBL expert, it draws from the proven framework of the PBL+AI Certification Course to help teachers design rigorous, engaging, and student-centered projects more efficiently—while keeping the human elements that make PBL truly transformative.
Participants will explore how AI serves as a powerful thought partner for planning, assessment, and implementation across any grade level or subject area. You’ll leave with ready-to-use tools, prompts, and resources you can apply immediately in your classroom or school.
What You’ll Experience
- Foundations of PBL + AI — Build a shared understanding of high-quality PBL and how AI can enhance (not replace) your practice.
- AI for Project Planning — Learn when and how to use AI effectively, master prompting techniques, build complete project plans with tools like Gemini, and create dynamic project hubs using NotebookLM.
- Assessment Practices with AI — Discover how AI is shifting assessment design, explore practical applications for formative and summative tools, review model practices, and address common questions.
- Reflection and Next Steps — Reflect on your role as a PBL facilitator in the AI era, review and refine your project plans, and identify clear action steps.
- Leadership in AI + PBL — For instructional leaders: Leverage AI as a thought partner, develop policies and procedures, identify key tools and supports, and design effective professional development.
- Advanced Tools in Action — Hands-on exploration of tools like Napkin AI, Canva AI, and Gamma App, plus strategies for implementing projects successfully with students.
Throughout the session, you’ll engage in active planning, prompting practice, and resource creation tailored to your context.

Project Coaching (1-2 hrs)
This is a follow up service to PBL 1.0 and Assessment 2.0 workshops and highly recommended for sustainable PBL implementation. Project coaching is 1:1 fully personalized project planning support provided by CraftED Experts. This time is designed to “meet teachers wherever they are” with PBL and can include “soup to nuts” planning of a project. If there are planning teams on site it is recommended that all members of the team be present for this time. Examples of support during project coaching include: differentiation, calendaring, designing reflection activities, project brainstorming, standards alignment, scope and sequencing, etc. Teachers appreciate this time with a PBL expert because it answers any remaining questions they might have, helps them get clear on their individual next steps and keeps them focused and efficient during planning time.
Formats available: In person
Project Reflection and Refinement (1.5-2 hrs)
This workshop is a follow up to PBL 1.0, Assessment 2.0 and project coaching. After teachers have implemented their initial project it is a best practice to reflect upon the process to ensure that teachers continue to develop their craft and that students are learning deeply. Using a modified Looking at Student Work protocol, CraftED will facilitate the staff analyzing project work from the school site. The staff will use the definitions of HQPBL developed during PBL 1.0 as a lens for reflecting on their own project and generating goals for improving the project next year.
Agenda Outline is as follows:
- Self Reflection
- Revisit HQPBL
- Planning team project audit
- LASW protocol
