High School PBL Ideas for Summer: Understanding Complex Global Issues Through Multiple Narratives
As a PBL expert and mom, I’m always looking for Project-Based Learning ideas that are engaging, skill-building, and relevant to the real world, especially during summer when the “summer slide” can sneak in. Recently, a simple carpool ride after a soccer tournament sparked the creation of this new resource.
While driving five high school girls home, we passed a man on a bridge holding Palestine flags and banners that read “Honk for Peace.” The genuine questions that followed: “What’s the beef between Israel and Palestine?” reminded me how much teens crave real understanding, not soundbites.
That moment inspired this summer PBL idea designed specifically for high school students who want (or need) a meaningful, independent learning experience.
Multiple Narratives: A Summer PBL Project on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
