More About the Author
Dr. Jennifer Pieratt is an award-winning author. Pieratt started out as a classroom teacher before founding CraftEd Curriculum. Her unique perspective on the hardships the teachers of today face is supported by her years of experience working as a School Development Coach. She also holds a Ph.D. in Educational Philosophy, with an emphasis in PBL, and as such, brings an extensive knowledge of learning theory to her work. This dynamic combination of skills has made her an international expert on Project Based Learning. Even as President of CraftED, Jenny remains active in fieldwork through PBL consults and coaching. In both guide books, she seeks to lay out a practical guide to PBL that offers an approach focused on simplicity.
“Over the past two school years, Jen has provided targeted Project Based Learning support to my Transitional Kindergarten-5th grade teachers as they developed two PBL units at each grade level. Teachers were challenged to delve into their grade level standards to create unique, challenging projects that connected to our school’s environmentalism focus. The products were outstanding!
Jen also supported me as the school leader through targeted feedback regarding where my support for teachers was most needed. Our school has transformed over the past two years and Jen’s consultation was instrumental in that transformation.”
