Project: Mapping our Community of Heroes

Final Product: Community map curated with QR codes of where our community heroes are from, with QR codes to student writing

Driving Question: How can we, as 2nd graders, honor the heroes in our community?

Communicating Experience: Standing exhibit somewhere central in the school. Invite families through Instagram, Newsletter, KUSI news.

Deliverables: 

  1. Labeled diagram of traits of a hero
  2. Community interview recording
  3. Labeling a map with components
  4. 1 Paragraph of Hero writing

Benchmarks: 

  1.  Heroes in History (SS2.5), What character traits do heroes have?
  2. How to interview, how to pull quotes, grammar punctuation
  3. Mapping our Community,  Heroes in our community come from all over the world.
  4. Informational Writing
