This 3 page strategy is a reflective, agency-building exercise. Included are steps for walking students through a process in which they think about ideals and dreams, strengths and areas for improvement, resources available to them, and how to go about using their resources. Teacher reflection prompts, student sentence frames and a sample toolbox inventory list is provided. Extension ideas are also provided and are aligned to the following standards: CCSS.MATH.PRACTICE.MP1-8, ELA related to implementation of Lucy Calkins’s workshop methods. Students with IEPs also greatly benefit from this strategy.
